Acceptable use

Atelier builds websites for real businesses. Almost everything follows from that one sentence, and the rest is below. It is short on purpose: a policy nobody reads protects nobody.

What you may not do

• Pretending to be somebody else

  A business you do not run, a person you are not, or an organisation that has not asked you to.

• Selling what you cannot sell

  Anything illegal where you or your customers are, and anything requiring a licence or registration you do not hold.

• Claims that are not true

  Invented reviews, qualifications you do not have, prices you will not honour, results you cannot produce.

• Collecting what you should not

  Payment details, passwords or identity documents through a page made here. It is not built for that and it is not safe for that.

• Hate, harassment, or content about children

  No judgement call required on our side, and no appeal on yours.

• Using the builder as a weapon

  Generating pages at volume, using somebody else’s account, or working around a limit rather than asking for it to be raised.

What happens if you do

We take the site off the internet, and depending on what it was we stop the account building new ones or close it. We do not have a warning system, a strike count or an appeal process, because there are two of us. If we get it wrong, write to us and we will look again, because that is genuinely the whole procedure.

What we do with what you write

Your answers go to a language model to compose the page, and are stored so the site can be rebuilt and so you can see why it looks the way it does. We read them when something has gone wrong or when you have asked us to. We do not sell them, and there is nothing in the product that needs them for anything else.

Reporting a site

Every site made here carries a link to report it. You do not need an account and we do not tell the owner who reported them.

Last changed 18 September 2026. If this page and a signed agreement ever disagree, the agreement wins.
